What is CBT?

A CBT therapist will work with their client by helping them to understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions and behaviour. It involves setting personal goals for therapy and then working with the therapist to achieve them.

How does CBT work?

Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy my focus is to help individuals to heal and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space and listening to your concerns. You are the expert in your own life, so I’m not going to judge you, give you advice or tell you what to do. Instead, we will work together to create a treatment plan that works for you and your needs.

What You Can Expect

We work with you in developing practical solutions to your challenges, equipping you with tools to navigate difficult situations with greater ease. While focusing on the present and future, CBT also involves examining how your past experiences have shaped you. This process fosters self-awareness and enhances your ability to cope with future difficulties.

Initial Session

In your first session, your therapist will discuss what brought you to therapy and identify the changes you want to make, laying the groundwork for your journey ahead.

Small Steps

Subsequent sessions will focus on practical strategies to modify your thinking patterns and behaviors. By changing these, you can effectively alter how you feel in various situations.

Set Personal Goals

Together, we'll set specific goals based on what you want to achieve, ensuring that your sessions are focused on your individual needs and aspirations.
