Welcome to Breakthrough Flourish Counselling
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a collaborative and goal-oriented form of psychotherapy aimed at identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviours. It operates on the principle that thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected, and by addressing one component, individuals can positively influence the others. Through structured sessions, we work with you to recognise and challenge automatic negative thoughts and beliefs contributing to emotional distress or maladaptive behaviours. Using techniques such as cognitive restructuring and behavioural experiments, clients learn to replace these patterns with more healthy alternatives.
CBT is highly effective in treating various mental health issues, including anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, PTSD, and substance use disorders. It emphasises providing practical tools and coping strategies that clients can apply in their daily lives, empowering them to develop more helpful ways of thinking and coping. Ultimately, CBT aims to enhance emotional well-being and quality of life by fostering lasting changes in thought patterns and behaviours.
How We Can Help
Hey there, I'm Lisa, and I'm here to support you on your journey. As a registered cognitive behavioural therapist, my approach is rooted in collaboration and goal-setting. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), we'll work together to identify and transform those negative thought patterns and behaviours that may be holding you back.
With years of experience under my belt, I've had the privilege of helping individuals navigate through a variety of challenges, from anxiety and depression to OCD, PTSD, chronic pain, and overwhelming stress. Whether you're a young adult finding your way or an older individual seeking support, I'm here to provide a safe space for you to explore, grow, and thrive.
We can meet face-to-face in a relaxing space, in therapy rooms in the centre of Glasgow, or we can connect online. With a background in nursing spanning over 30 years, including roles in orthopaedics, chronic pain management, and supporting individuals with physical disabilities like spina bifida, my passion is to help you live live to the full.
By choosing to work with me, you are also supporting my ongoing commitment to offering counselling to individuals in recovery or facing financial hardship. Your sessions help me continue this work in the community.
Meet Lisa

Lisa helped me when I was at my lowest. She helped me to question my negative thoughts and put them on trial. I am now the mum of a beautiful baby boy who would have given up if Lisa hadn't helped with my mental health.

The way I was feeling, I almost hung up on Lisa before the sessions even started. I am so glad that I didn't. I have struggled with anxiety and depression many times in my adult life. Lisa was incredibly patient, made me feel valued, helped me build my self esteem and gave me the tools to challenge my negative thought patterns.

I still have my moments, but my outlook on life is so much better and I have a confidence I never knew I could have. It has been a year since I finished sessions with Lisa and the difference between my approach to life now, compared to last year is huge. Thank you Lisa, I would highly recommend.`
